hatte das gleiche problem -> combo update

ich verstehe nicht wie ihr zu einem Combo Update kommt. ich bin immer auf dem aktuellesten Stand gewesen. D.h. ich habe 6 Stunden vor dem 10.4.3 Update meine Kiste Formatiert und auf den aktuellsten Stand gebracht.... Danach konnte ich nur das 98 MB grosse Update laden. komisch, für euch.

habe bis jetzt überhaupt keine probleme nach dem update. alles ein wenig schneller, runder. das einzige was ein wenig länger dauert, ist nach meinem empfinden das aufstarten meines pbs

für alle, bei denen die software-Aktualisierung fehlschlägt:
Mal probieren, einen neuen User anzulegen und sich mit dem einzuloggen.
Wenn das nicht klappt, ist's schon etwas mehr...

Das die G5s (auch die, die bisher brav waren) nun ein sehr... "dynamisches" Lüfterverhalten an den Tag legen, muss doch einen Grund haben.
Ist bei mir jedenfalls auch so (2GHz Dual late 2004). Ein deutlicher Unterschied.

Du kopierst die Zeilen in den Scripteditor von Apple...
Programme->AppleScript->ScriptEditor

Dann sicherst du das als programm und kannst es dann über F8 oder was du willst öffnen...

Hier auf meinem Mac Mini (1,42 GHz, 512MB RAM, 80GB HD, SD, AirPort Extreme, Bluetooth) funktioniert alles einwandfrei. Habe das normale Update auf 10.4.3 über Softwareaktualisierung gemacht (von 10.4.2, 98MB).
Der erste Neustart dauerte etwas länger, danach fing Spotlight an neu zu indizieren. Nach 5 Min. hat sich das dann auch gelegt.
Der einzige Fehler den ich hatte, wurde behoben (Startton kam nur sporadisch). Alles andere funktioniert wie gewohnt und meiner Meinung nach läuft das neue System etwas flüssiger, was ich jedoch nicht mit Benchmarks belegen kann. Es ist eben nur mein subjektiver Eindruck.

Also, ich habe das Combo-Update zur Aktualisierung herangezogen, weil mir der Download über die Softwareaktualisierung zu langsam war und kann nun ein paar Stunden nach erfolgtem Update sagen, dass es bei mir keine Probs gibt. Der extrem lange Neustart hat zwar irritiert und die längeren HD-Aktivitäten (ca. 10 Min., wohl wg. Spotlight) auch, aber danach lief alles Taco. Kein Probs mit MS Office:mac 2004, MS Messenger 5, Skype, Firefox 1.5 Beta 2, Transmit und die Apple-Sachen laufen auch alle.

Update ist auf Dual 2 Ghz (Mai 2005) einwandfrei drauf. Nur ab und an kann man den Lüfter als Fön verwenden.

und nach 45min hab ich das letzte mal einfach ausgeschalten...
die festplatte rattert wie bloed... spotlight kann es aber eigentlich nicht sein.. habe nur eine 40 GB Platte!!!

Klick doch mal auf den Knopf "Bericht...". Dann kommt ein Fenster, in dem das Crashlog drin ist. Das ist viel interessanter, als dieser Dialog.

Mir hat das Update die Platte zerschossen. Nach mehreren erfolglosen Versuchen das PB zu rebooten (blieb immer beim grauen Apfel hängen -> ohne Festplattenaktivität) habe ich die OS X Installations DVD zur Hand genommen und das Volumen repariert ... bzw. versucht es zu repariere. Hat leider nicht geklappt. Also 10.4 neu installiert und meine Daten extern gespeichert.

Heute Abend heißt es also Neuinstallation. Ich werde mir die nächsten Tage mal Gedanken über eine praktikable BackUp-Lösung machen müssen!

wieso bring ein solches update von der eigenen firma solche probleme mit sich ??
was soll ich machen soll ich meinen mac updaten oder nicht, ich habe echt angst das dann auch solche probleme aufträten, wenn ja ist scheisse weil ich mich noch nicht so extrem gut auskenn, und dann wäre ich wieder einmal so richtig im eck.

Das mit dem langen Neustart hab ich auch. Angeblich wird es aber nach ein paar langen Boots besser und wieder normal.
Wollte auch Quartz 2D Extreme aktivieren, aber nachdem es zu ein paar Kernel Panics kam, deaktivierte ich es ganz schnell wieder. Steht ja auch in der Version History.
Schade, mit 10.4.2 funktionierte es noch ganz gut und ich hatte nie 'ne Kernel Panic.
