Was Apple mit der Apple Watch begann, wird jetzt mit dem iPhone 8 fortgesetzt: Apples Engagement beim Thema Wireless Charging. So gibt es in diesem Bereich jetzt auch eine kleine Übernahme – der Konzern aus Cupertino übernimmt PowerbyProxi. Die Firma aus Neuseeland beschäftigt sich mit Lademodulen.
So freut sich PowerbyProxi darüber, Apple bei dem Weg in eine drahtlose Zukunft zu unterstützen. Der Konzern versuche, drahtlose Lademöglichkeiten an mehr Orten zu implementieren.
Apple’s senior vice president of hardware engineering Dan Riccio told Stuff that the PowerbyProxi team will be a “great addition as Apple works to create a wireless future.”
“We want to bring truly effortless charging to more places and more customers around the world,” Riccio added.
So äußerte sich der Gründes des Unternehmens zur Übernahme:
“The team and I are thrilled to join Apple. There is tremendous alignment with our values, and we are excited to continue our growth in Auckland and contribute to the great innovation in wireless charging coming out of New Zealand.”

Das Unternehmen wurde 2007 gegründet. Es entwickelte unter anderem das Proxi-Modul, welches drahtloses Laden mit bis zu 100 Watt Leistung ermöglicht. Zudem ist das Modul wasserfest.
