ich hab seit einiger Zeit Probleme mit meinem MacBook 5,5. Hier schon mal beschrieben. Applejack hat leider nix gebracht, eher im Gegenteil? Die Auszeiten des Rechners wurden immer länger. Teilweise stellt er sich 10-15 Minuten tot jetzt. "Der ist abgeritten zu seine Ahnennn ..." wie man bei Monty Python so schön sagt.

Hab grade das 10.6.8 Update gemacht und selbst das hing an allen Ecken und Kanten. Falls einer was mit anfangen kann:

Die ganze "Airport"-Geschichte mal ausgeklammert ist das immer noch ein sehr langes Log voller Fehlermeldungen, Hänger und Timeouts? Jedenfalls alles nicht gut denke ich und merke ich ja.

Kiste ist unbrauchbar zur Zeit. 30-Minütige-Beachball-Phasen nach Neustart. Und nun? System komplett neu aufsetzen? Damit hab ich trotz ca. 12 Jahren Mac so gut wie keine Erfahrung, einfach deshalb weil sonst immer alles gut lief. Wie mach ich das am besten? Ich hab mir erst einmal ein System komplett zerstört und das war noch unter System 8, weil ich zu viel "Spaß" mit ResEdit hatte ...

Nu Butter bei die Fische.
Ich brauche dringend: meine Mails der letzten Jahre + Mailkonten, meine Passwörter ausm Schlüsselbund, meine gekaufte/importierte Musik und alle meine iPhone-Apps. Airportzugang ganz wichtig weil ich grad kein Kabel finde.
Ich habe: TimeMachine-Backup und noch ca.230 + 700 GB Festplattenplatz auf zwei USB-Platten. Sollte ich die interne Platte noch klonen als DiskImage mit Festplattendienstprogramm oder SuperDuper? Klone ich da nicht allen Mist mit? Wie sichere ich denn nur das was ich brauche und bekomme das vernünftig zurück in ein neues System?

Ich hab – wie im alten Thread gesagt – auch schon mal einen neuen Benutzer angelegt: selbe Probleme. Viel mit dem iPhone gegoogelt weil der Rechner ja streikte: evtl. ein Firmware-Problem zwischen Platte und Mainboard? Brauch ich ne neue Platte? Hardwaretest und Festplatten-Dienstprogramm sagen: alles ok. Seh ich aber nicht so. Hatte ja anfangs Safari als Hauptverdächtigen, aber auch das Dashboard, Mail, der Finder und selbst die Konsole "hängen" mit diesen "Insert-Hang" oder Query-Hang"-Meldungen. Hab mittlerweile allen Kram wie iStat, meinen Lieblings-Screensaver "Fliqlo", Perian, Skype, Adium usw. deaktiviert bzw. gelöscht. Ist ja aber auch keine Lösung, der Mac hängt immer noch, aber kann nur noch die Hälfte.

Ich bin nun also wirklich willig die Kiste völlig platt zu machen und von vorne anzufangen. Nur? Wie mache ich das am besten? Alles aufn Zettel schreiben und wirklich nix übernehmen? Wenn ich die Platte ausradiere: muss ich erst mal von der grauen DVD 10.5 installieren um danach auf 10.6 gehen zu können? Oder kann ich direkt von der "Update"-DVD installieren? Und wenn ich vom TimeMachine-Backup migriere: hole ich mir dann nicht wieder allen alten Dreck rein? Also besser alles aufn Zettel schreiben und neu eintragen im frischen System?

Ich bin wirklich am Ende mit meinem Latein und hab noch nie sooo viel geschrieben hier. Liest daher vermutlich eh niemand.

Aber die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt ...

Hast du am System geschraubt? Sieht zumindest auf den ersten Blick ins Log so aus.
Wofür brauchst du die JMicronATA.kext?
dein kextCache scheint defekt zu sein(eventl. durch die vielleicht inkompatible JMicronATA.kext).
schon mal einen Start in den Safe Mode gemacht, Start dauert lange, bestimmte Caches werden neuangelegt und bestimmte Erweiterungen nicht geladen. Läuft das System im SafeMode flüssiger( dadurch das bestimmte Erweiterungen nicht geladen werden stehen verschiedene Dieste nicht zur Verfügung, so kann Airport oder Bluetooth zum Beispiel durchaus nicht im SafeMode laufen). Zum Arbeiten eignet sich der Safe Mode also nicht nur zum Testen.
Nutzt du Systemverschlimmbesserungstools(OnyX, CleanMyMac etc.)?

Safe-Mode war schon mal nicht schlecht.Lief rund und ging mehr als ich dachte. Ich hab jetzt nun zwischenzeitlich durch rumsuchen/googlen noch uralte "Soundflower"-Reste in den Kernel-Extensions gefunden. Außerdem knallhart mal die "JMicronATA.kext" gelöscht. Bisher siehts gut aus bzw. hört sich gut an. Ich höre keine Platte rödeln und sehe keinen Beachball. Kann sogar in "Echtzeit" tippsen hier. Konsole spuckt zwar noch Fehler am laufenden Band aus aber die Hänger sind offenbar verschwunden bzw. nicht mehr spürbar, weil nur noch 1-2 Sekunden lang? Abwarten ... Aber ganz rund ist das immer noch nicht.

Das Combo-Update lade ich grade, aber ich hab ja erst vor ca. anderthalb Stunden auf 10.6.8 "upgedatet"? Kann das dann irgendwas bringen?

Keine Sorgen wegen der Arbeit des applejack - das ist nur eine GUI, für die Arbeiten, die du auch selbst mit dem Festplattendienstprogramm machen kannst (Rechte "reparieren", Volumen überprüfen) und dann prüft das Programm noch einige Einstellungen und vernichtet kaputte .pref Dateien.
Also an deinen Troubles ist der Gute sicher nicht beteiligt. Das Praktische ist, dass alles Mögliche in einem Aufwaschen passiert und du nicht die Install.DVD einlegen (oder gar suchen) musst.
Aber mit deinem Netzwerk (deinen Netzwerken) stimmt einiges nicht. Ich würde mal alles abkoppeln, auch Ethernet und neu einrichten, auch Router Zurücksetzen und all diese Späße, um bei Null zu beginnen.

Das Combo-Update hat den Vorteil, dass es im Gegensatz zum 10.6.8-Update alle Updates seit 10.6.0 beinhaltet, falls eine Systemdatei zerschossen ist, kann die Installation eines solchen doch ab und an mal recht hilfreich sein.

Keine Ahnung leider immer noch nicht, was mit der Kiste los war(?)/ist, jedenfalls hat das löschen dieser ominösen "JMicronATA.kext" offenbar schon mal seeeeehr viel gebracht. Hab jetzt auch noch das Combo-Update rüberlaufen lassen und zur Zeit herrscht erst mal Ruhe, der Mac lässt sich ohne neu aufsetzen wieder "ganz normal" bedienen (toi,toi,toi).

Netzwerke? Ich brauch eigentlich nur meine Airportverbindung zum Router. Ich check das später mal und richte evtl. mal alles neu ein. "Turning it off and on again" wie Roy sagt hab ich mal zwischendurch Ich bin Hardware-/Systemsoftwaremäßig halt eigentlich absoluter Depp. Karton auf, Recher an, Migration, fertig. Um mehr musste ich mich bisher nie kümmern und das fand ich ja immer so charmant an Apple. Das und die netten Alu-Gehäuse waren mir den Aufpreis gegenüber Supermarkt-PCs dann auch wert. Nun wär ich aber (fast) verzweifelt und wollte echt zum Holzhammer greifen.

Wie auch immer: DANK an alle fleißigen Helfer bisher, hoffentlich benimmt sich das MacBook jetzt wieder. Ich hab ihm schon mit Neukauf eines Thunderbolt-13-Zöllers gedroht

Soooo. Also: nix da. Ich hab mich zu früh gefreut. Das System macht immer noch was es will, die Platte rödelt nun gerne mal wieder 15 Minuten oder länger. Und in dieser Zeit stellt sich der Rest vom Mac tot. iTunes spielt munter weiter, YouTube-Filme laufen usw. Aber man kann sie weder stoppen noch sonstirgendwas machen. Keine einzige Eingabe wird verarbeitet. Warum der Rechner dieses Eigenleben entwickelt hat ist mir mittlerweile eigentlich egal. Ich wüsste trotzdem gerne schon WAS er da irgendwo auf die Festplatte schreibt (# of bytes written) und WOHIN. Ich will das löschen. Keiner eine Idee?

Und nun komme ich zurück zum Holzhammer und meiner ursprünglichen Frage: Wie mache ich die Kiste am besten platt und behalte nur das, was ich will? Also Passwörter, Musik, Apps, E-Mails? Der Rest kann mir gestohlen bleiben. Vermutlich mache ich heute eh nix mehr und komme auch erst nächsten Samstag wieder dazu mich mit der Kiste zu streiten. Ein Glück muss ich damit nicht arbeiten - es ist ja nur ein Spielzeug um Katzenvideos und son Kram anzukucken. Trotzdem alles doof, so.

Ich würde das jetzige System auf eine externe Platte klonen, z.B. mit CarbonCopyCloner (LINK), das System neu aufsetzen und dann mit dem Migrationsassistenten Deine Daten vom Image zurückholen.

Ich habe auch schon einmal Probleme mit Treibern von JMicro gehabt. Ein Hama Expresscard-CF-Card Adapter kam mit diesen Treibern und verursachte Kernel-Paniken. Auch ein Update der Treiber über die JMicro-Seite hat nichts gebracht, also wieder runter damit.
Dort gibt es auch einen Uninstaller

lass mal deinen dyld cache erneuern (Bei sudo wird das Passwort blind eingetippt):

und schau dir mal den S.M.A.R.T Status deiner Festplatte im Festplatten-Dienstprogramm an, achja eine Reparatur dort kann auch nicht schaden (Boot Partition lässt sich nur von DVD aus gebootet reparieren, jedoch geht eine Überprüfung auch so).

Du hast Recht, liebes Entlein.
Dann muss es eben der etwas zeitaufwändigere Weg sein, alle Daten händisch sichern (Dokumente, iTunes-Library, Schlüsselbund, ....) und dann nach einer Neuinstallation von Hand wieder einpflegen.

Da Janniz sagt, er hat ohnehin nicht allzu viel drauf, kann er die Schlüsselbunddaten ja dann auf der neu installierten Platte händisch eingeben, das sind nur ein paar Klicks.

also den schlüsselbund zu kopieren kann man schon machen, das sind so einer der wenigen Dateien, bei denen man ziemlich sicher sein kann, dass sie heile sind.

Doch jedes Mal, wenn ich den Schlüsselbund öffne hat die erste Hilfe etwas zu reparieren. Vielleicht sollte der TE das auch machen, Schlüsselbund vor dem kopieren reparieren (Schüllelbund / Erste Hilfe).
