Grafikkarte! Hast du ein MBP Mitte 2010, 13 "?
Das ist nämlich das, das von Haus aus einen Grafikkartenfehler hat. Es gab eine Frist von Apple für einen Tausch der Grafikkarte, die wurde dann auch noch verlängert, aber jetzt ist sie endgültig zu Ende . Kürzlich hat ein User hier berichtet, dass er 240 € zahlen sollte für den Austausch.
Das wird es wohl auch kosten, wenn du nicht direkt von dem genannten Problem (anderer Mac?) betroffen bist.

Kurze Zeit vor Ablauf des Apple Care waren wir deswegen im Gravis, sie konnten aber nichts finden. Jetzt ist das MBP 3 Jahre und 2 Monate alt.

Ich kann leider auch nichts bzgl. der Austauschaktion finden.

Ist eine Kulanz seitens Apple denkbar?

Kommt auf den Servicemenschen an. Bei manchen Usern hat die Kulanz geklappt, bei einem (hab ich auf AT Gelsen) leider nicht.
Eine fixe Aussage gibt es daher nicht.

Die Reparaturaktion war diese hier: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4088?viewlocale=de_DE
und gilt nur für das 15" MBP. Das 13" hat nicht diesen Serienfehler, zumindest ist er nicht zugegeben und ich habe auch nicht gehäuft von Fehlern mit der nvidia bei 13" MBPs gelesen.

Der genannte Fehler muss auch nicht zwangsweise ein Problem mit der Hardware sein. Ein Spinlock ist erst einmal ein theoretisches Konstrukt zur Prozesssynchronisation, sodass durchaus schlecht programmierte Software in Frage kommt. Deshalb lässt man eine saubere OS X-Installation von externer Festplatte einige Zeit laufen und guckt, ob es nochmal so einen Absturz gibt.

Da habe ich 15" mit 13 " verwechselt. Verzeih.
Aber meine Weisheit, dass die Grafikkarte die Verursacherin des Abstsurzes ist, beziehe ich gar nicht aus der Spinlock-Meldung (da muss ich erst nachsehen, was das bedeutet, davor war ich am iPad und da ist jegliches Nachschlagen so umständlich, dass ich es bleiben lasse).
Ich lese diese Meldung und tippe auf Grafikkarte:

neee, würde ich auch so sehen. Aber der Panic-Fehler ist eben der Spinlock-Fehler gewesen, von dem ich meine, das ihn auch schlecht programmierte Software auslösen kann. Und der taucht halt im Zusammenhang mit der Grafikkarte auf. Aber ich bin weder Meister Yoda, noch träume ich in Binär - ich rate nur rum.

Das liest sich irgendwie komisch. Ich würde mal einen SMC und PRAM Reset machen.
OS X ist ja 10.8.5 das sollte eigentlich stabil laufen.
Ist die SMC Version für dein MacBook aktuell? Vllt mal überprüfen.

Ja, eigentlich schon vielleicht aber auch nicht ...

Die SMC- und EFI-Version für das MBP 7.1 ist aktuell. Zu allererst würde mal SMC- und PRAM-Reset machen und dann das Ding einen Tag mit einer auf einer externen HD installierten frischen OS X-Version quälen. Gegen den Apple Hardware Test (AHT, Start mit gedrückt gehaltenem "d" auf der internen Tastatur) spricht natürlich ebenfalls nichts. Wenn das nichts bringt ist es entweder Zufall oder in Deinem bisherigen OS X ist irgendwas vermurkst - Combo-Update, Softwareversionen, Startup-Objekte, Safemode, etc. pp.

Einen Hardwarefehler sollte man nicht vorschnell ausschließen, er scheint mir aber doch eher unwahrscheinlich.

Wie sieht denn der Akku aus? Der bläht gerne in dem Alter und drückt dann vielleicht irgendwo drauf. Wenn es schlimm ist sollte man das schon am Bodenblech sehen, ohne Aufschrauben.

- SMC und PRAM Reset werde ich morgen durchführen
- ausführlicher Apple Hardware Test hat keine Fehler angezeigt
- der Akku ist noch der erste drin, aber aufgebläht ist er nicht. Er hält aber in der Tat nicht mehr lang und es wird ständig "Batterie warten" Fehlermeldung angezeigt.
- das Problem mit dem sporadischen Aufhängen ist seit einigen Monaten weg und das MBP ist heute zum vielleicht 2. Mal überhaupt einfach so ausgegangen. Daher wäre externe Festplatte wahrscheinlich ein Langzeitversuch für eine Dauer von 2,3,4…96 Monaten

Mein persönlicher Tipp war Festplatte, da diese nach 3 Jahren vielleicht doch langsam mal den Geist aufgibt. Aber Festplatte vermutet keiner von euch, daher scheint der Quellcode keine Hinweise in dieser Richtung zu geben.

Ich würde nach dem SMC und PRAM Reset eine Zeit lang beobachten und dann evtl. eine neue Festplatte (jetzt dann SSD) einbauen und evtl. den Akku ersetzen.

Die Resets sind eigentlich kein Umstand. Dokumentiert sind sie auf den Apple Seiten.
