Oh ja, sorry, stimmt, wir (ich) sind abgedriftet. Zusammengefasst: Du hast schon einen recht potenten Mac. Prozessor und Grafikkarte werden sich in den Werten nur um 10-30 Prozent steigern lassen.

Nadelör ist Deine Platte (oder auch beim neuen Mac das anscheinend angepeilte Fusion Drive).

Ein neuer Mac bringt nur etwas, wenn du eine schnellere Datenanbindung schaffst. Das lässt sich aber auch mit dem bisherigen erreichen.

falls Du glaubst, dass der Mac im Laufe der Zeit langsamer geworden ist: per se und nur durch die Updates sollte er das nicht geworden sein, ist ja kein PC. Allerdings kann natürlich allerhand Klimbim den Mac verlangsamen, die ganze Zusatzsoftware, aber auch z.B. Fehler im OS, inkompatible Treiber, sowas halt.

Lass doch mal EtreCheck laufen und poste den Report hier.

EDIT: Ein großer Punkt, der mich stört und auch wirklich erst seit der Umstellung von HFS+ auf APFS vorhanden ist: Wenn ich den Mac mal neu starte, dauert der Start Ewigkeiten. Powerknopf gedrückt -> 3-4 Sekunden bis Startsound ertönt -> danach gute 3-4 Minuten bis der Ladebalken kommt (bis dahin ist der Bildschirm schwarz)

Nix anfassen, und sofort ne neue SSD zur Datensicherung gekauft...

edith: danach könnte man sich mal überlegen ob das Samsung KIES gebraucht wird. Manchmal schimmelt das ewig rum, obwohl es das Phone nicht mehr gibt.

die Festplatte wird dann als failing gemeldet, wenn es allerhöchste Eisenbahn ist, noch schnell Daten zu sichern, falls noch nicht geschehen. Immerhin hast Du hier die Erklärung für die geringe Geschwindigkeit. Du wirst sie austauschen lassen müssen.

Die lange Zeit beim Boot liegt an den externen Laufwerken. Der Rechner muss alle Festplatten hochfahren und dann gucken, ob Bootcode existiert, der für die Auswahl im Bootmenü relevant wäre.

Ok, danke euch allen. Neue Festplatte und Rahmen sind schon eingetroffen (Backup ist natürlich auch angelegt). Welches Klebeband könnt ihr empfehlen, um das Display wieder sicher zu verkleben? Auf Amazon liest man ja ab und an mal, dass die Tapes nicht halten.

Edit: Und welchen Wärmesensor soll ich nehmen? Manche schreiben, dass man keinen braucht und man es per Software regeln kann. Wie zuverlässig ist das?

Wie zuverlässig ist das?

TG Pro ist zwar nicht billig, aber es gibt verschiedene Modi und Trigger für den Betrieb.
Richtig konfiguriert ist das schneller und besser als die originale Steuerung.
Dauert zwar etwas, sich in die ganzen Möglichkeiten einzufuchsen, aber dann muß man nicht mehr drüber nachdenken.
Angenehm ist es, bei Bedarf alle Sensoren auf einen Klick betrachten zu können.
Gibt bestimmt noch andere gute Lösungen
