Du hast Adware auf Deinem iMac -> Spigot Application Manager -> entfernen
Dann wären da noch ApplCleaner und allen voran CleanMyMac -> beides entfernen

Anschließend beobachten, ob der Fehler erneut auftritt.
 
Und Java aktualisieren. Und Growl entsorgen
 
Keine TimeMachine? Kein Backup? Es heißt: "Kein Backup, kein Mitleid!". Festplatten können immer und jederzeit kaputtgehen.

Mir fällt zusätzlich noch auf, dass Perian und ein uralter NTFSforMacOSX installiert sind - die sollten eigentlich deaktiviert sein, aber man weiß nie, welche Spirenzchen so alte Software noch macht. Runter damit (Perian, hat schon damals nicht richtig zuverlässig funktioniert) bzw. aktualisieren (NTFS). Ansonsten hätte ich den Verdacht von defektem RAM - ein Hardwaretest mittels der zweiten grauen mitgelieferten System-DVD wäre angeraten (D auf einer Kabeltastatur beim Einschalten drücken und gedrückt halten). Leider kann der Hardwaretest RAM-Fehler nicht ausschließen, sondern nur bestätigen - aber vielleicht zeigt er ja was.
