[Mac mini] Mac mini (late 2012) - Beachball in unregelmäigen Abständen

Moin zusamenn,

mein Mac mini (late 2012) [2,5 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 480 GB Crucial BX 300] macht immer wieder durch unregelmäßig auftretende Beachballs Ärger, die zwischen 5 und 20 Sekunden alle Eingaben verhindern, bevor diese anschließend ausgeführt werden.

Um eine einzelne App als Ursache ausschließen zu können, habe ich gestern macOS Mojave (10.14.6) neuinstalliert und der Beachball erschien bereits während der Einrichtung von macOS.

Kann es eventuell an der SSD liegen?

ja, kann. Allerdings liegen hier zu wenig Informationen vor, um das für den konkreten Fall verlässlich zu bestätigen. Der SMART-Status Deiner - selbst nachgerüsteten? - SSD ist überprüft, d.h. die SSD geht selbst noch nicht davon aus, dass sie kaputt sein könnte. Probleme machen oft auch die SATA-Kabel - wenn Du selbst umgebaut hast, besteht die Möglichkeit, dass Du das zur SSD beschädigt haben könntest. Ein Indikator könnte das SMART-Attribut "UDMA CRC error count" sein, dass Du z.B. mittels SMARTReporter Tryout ansehen könntest - es sollte 0 sein. Leider ist auch 0 kein Beweis dafür, dass das Kabel in Ordnung ist, sondern nur der Umkehrfall - ist ungleich 0 - belegt, dass auf dem Interface ein Problem herrscht. Jedenfalls wäre es vermutlich günstiger, das SATA-Kabel zu tauschen als die SSD. (Ich selbst habe schon eine M4 furchtbar langsam werden sehen - die hat sich übrigens nach fast einem Jahr liegenlassen wieder berappelt und tut jetzt zu meiner Überraschung im Mac Pro).

Die SSD habe ich damals tatsächlich selbst eingebaut. SMARTReporter liefert folgendes Ergebnis:
