Hallo Zusammen, mein macbook hat jetzt ca. 3,5 Jahre auf dem Buckel und es kackt in letzter Zeit immer häufiger ab.
Ich habe vor ca. 2 Jahren den Ram auf 4 GB erweitert.
Mit SL habe ich nun ständig "Zwangsshutsdown" mit dem unbeliebten grauen Fenster. Hier die Fehlermeldung beim Neustart:

Lies mal diesen Thread. Scheint mir zu passen.
Du kannst den RAM berprüfen in dem du abwechselnd einen Riegel rausnimmst und eine Weile nur mit der Hälfte des Speichers arbeitest.
Du kannst auf jeden Fall die Rechte reparieren und die Festplatte überprüfen. Um sie zu reparieren, musst du von der DVD starten.

Hast du die shutdowns auch, wenn du keinen Screensaver eingeschaltet hast, es erscheint mir so ( gefährliches Halbwissen und mit brummenden Schädel (bekomme meinen alljährlichen Frühlingsschub an Pollenallergie)), als ob eine CPU auf eine Anfrage nicht antwortete und dann aufgab (Unresponsive processor), das passiert oft bei fehlerhaften Treibern (du hast z.B. auch das LogiTechControllCenter installiert, bekannt für seine fehlerhaftigkeit) und in deinem Fall ist der beteiligte Prozess der Screensaver Engine.

Ok, also erstmal Danke.
In der Tat habe ich das Logitech-Gedöhns installiert. werde ich evtl. mal runter schmeißen!
Das war in diesem Fall beim Screensaver, kommt aber unabhängig davon einfach so immer mal wieder und ist ziemlich ärgerlich. Bei Flashvideos passiert das auch oft!
Da ich deswegen jetzt bestimmt schon 3 mal Leo und Snowleo aufgespielt hab bin ich mir fast sicher das es Hardwareseitig ist.
Ich habe auch schon porbiert das Macbook einfach mal "normal" ohne USB-Geräte oder Exterenen Monitor zu betreiben -> gleiches Ergebnis.
Rechte der Festplatte hab ich im übrigen auch schon repariert..

Hm... bin Ratlos :(

Ich hab jetzt mal den alten standart Ram eingebaut.. schein um einiges besser zu laufen, wenn auch langsamer..
Der ausführliche Hardwaretest hat zwar keine Fehler gegeben, aber in dem Fall schein der Ram wohl doch durch zu sein..

jetzt werd ich mal noch überprüfen welcher der beiden Riegel was abbekommen hat indem ich die einzeln laufen lass und dann ersetzen, wenns weiter nichts is, bin ich echt happy!

Vergeblich - ja sogar unsinnige - Liebesmüh. Mac ist nicht Windows und in 90 % der Probleme liegt der Fehler in Library oder ~/Library und darin ändert die Neuinstallation gar nichts.
Es gibt auch ein kleines Programm, dass den RAM (oberflächlich) teste: Rember. Wenn da alles o. K. ist, heißt das zwar nichts, aber wenn ein Fehler gefunden wird, dann ist einer vorhanden.

Also mit Rember hatte ich auch getestet, keine Fehler. Dann den Hardwaretest -> keine Fehler - jetzt lass ich die Dinger einfach mal einzeln laufen um zu schauen was so passiert.
Is irgendwie schon strange find ich... bis jetzt läuft er besser, wenn auch deutlich langsamer mit 1x 2GB drin

Was verwendest du den für Kraftprogramme, dass du die Verlangsamung so deutlich spürst? Kann ich mir nicht wirklich vorstellen.
Ich würde auf jeden Fall auch Macbeatniks Rat befolgen und den Screensaver deaktivieren. Ist es einer von Apple oder einer aus dem Web?
Aber, dass die Abstürze am RAM leigen, ist mehr als wahrscheinlich.

Screensaver is standart Mac, deaktiviere ich jetzt mal. Festplatte ich nachträglich eingebaut 320GB WD Black Scorpio

Programme die ständig/oft laufen -> Creative Suite 4, Apple Logic studio 8, Digidesign Protools -> ansonsten halt Safari Mail ect..

um dann auf der sicheren Seite zu sein, solltest du den Vorgang auch noch mit den 1GB Riegeln versuchen.

hm ich teste morgen noch mit anderen Ram chips, muß jetzt erstmal arbeiten gehen..

wenns am ram liegt wäre es mir am liebsten da kingston lebenslange Garantie gibt..

So, ich betreib das MacBook jetzt seit gestern Abend mit einem 2GB Ram Riegel in der rechten Buchse, da wo es laut Test keine Fehler gab. Erstaunlich find ich nun, das er trotzdem hin und wieder übelst ruckelt. Sprich beim Abspielen von streaming Videos like Youtube oder Myspace Musik player. Abgestürzt ist er aber bisher mit dem einen Ramchip noch nicht.

Ich teste nun mal noch den 2. Chip im rechten Slot.

also irgendwie komm ich auf keinen grünen Zweig.. läuft einfach scheiße! egal wie.. ich kann höchstens mal noch die Festplatte tauschen, glaub aber am RAM liegt es nicht, da beide Riegel scheinbar in Ordnung sind..
