Systemtasks haben Gast-Rechte anstatt Root-Rechten

Hallo liebe Forengemeinde,
ich habe ein Problem (?) auf dem iMac meiner Mutter entdeckt (Mac Os X 10.6.2):
Da der iMac immer wieder Probleme macht, habe ich mich in der Aktivitätsanzeige nach Auffälligkeiten umgeschaut, dort habe ich entdeckt, dass einige Systemtasks wie der kernel_task anstatt root-rechten nur Gast-Rechte haben, zumindest steht dort als Benutzer "Guest", es gibt keinen einzigen Task der Root-Rechte hat. Im Terminal wird das selbe angezeigt, hier einmal die Screenshots:

/etc/passwd ist irrelevant. Das ist schon lange nur noch eine dumbe Kompatibilitätsbrücke ohne Aussagekraft.
Gültig ist nur der Eintrag in den DirectoryServices, der mittels 'dscl' abrufbar wäre.
Aber das kannst du dir schenken, du möchtest diese kompromittierte Systemsoftware umgehend ausser Betrieb nehmen und neu installieren.

Ich verstehe nicht, wie manche Leute die mitgelieferten DVDs verlieren können.
Meine Mutter hat es bei ihren imac geschafft.
Sobald ich die DVD gefunden habe, werde ich OS x einfach drüberbügeln. Oder soll ich ihn vorher platt machen?

Hmm, ich könnte auch einfach mal das Combo-update drüberspielen, könnte das auch etwas helfen?

Ja funktioniert. Vorher ein Backup erstellen, dann von der DVD booten und mit dem Festplattendienstprogramm die Platte neu partitionieren. Anschließend die Installation starten und danach (unter einem temporären User) deine Daten mit dem Migrationsassistenten kopieren.

Es gab nicht wirklich eine Update-DVD. Beides waren die gleiche Version, nur wurden die eine eigentlich zu einem anderen Preis verkauft - die "Vollversion" war teuerer, weil es ja kein vergünstigtes (durch den Besitz der erforderlichen Vorversion) Upgrade war.

Doch, gab es. (Sonst hätte ich kaum eine solche hier.)
Der Trick warum das kaum einer gemerkt hat: Die Update-Prüfung wurde nur auf den Modellen durchgeführt, die es überhaupt jemals noch ohne ein berechtigendes Leopard zu kaufen gab. Was sowieso vom Verkaufsstart des Modells an immer nur mit Leo im Laden stand, wird einfach durchgewunken.
Und selbst wenn das Skript lief, irgendeine gefundene Leo Installation auf irgendeinem Volume hat genügt um installieren zu dürfen.
