X11 und keine xkb rules

Servus!

Ich hoffe ich bin im richtigen Unterforum gelandet (ansonsten bitte nach Unix verschieben).
Ich versuche seit 2 Tagen xmonad ans laufen zu kriegen, und verzweifel so langsam daran, dass mein X nicht funktioniert.
Ich habe das aktuellste Xquartz (2.4.0) installiert. Mitlerweile per port alles was auch nur im entferntesten mit xkb zu tun hat, aber keine Besserung ist in Sicht.

Im log mault alles über nicht vorhandene xkb rules.
Vielleicht weiss hier ja jemand was dazu?
