[h=1]Telstra, Vodafone switch on iPad Personal Hotspot[/h] Telstra and Vodafone have released carrier setting updates to iPad owners, enabling the Personal Hotspot feature on the new iPad, and allowing users to share the data available through the SIM card with other Wi-Fi-enabled devices.

Australia's other major telco, Optus, has yet to release a similar update for its customers. A spokesperson for Optus confirmed that the hotspot feature is still disabled on the network, but said that the telco "continue to review the needs of our customers and [is] committed to remaining competitive in the marketplace, so may look to enable [the feature] in the future".
Telstra and Vodafone customers will receive an invitation to update the carrier settings, automatically. Vodafone customers who have difficulty creating an ad hoc network using the feature can refer to the Vodafone blog for a guide to updating the settings on their tablet.
Apple's latest iPad model was released in March this year, and though Apple made reference to the Personal Hotspot feature in its keynote presentation, the ability to share data was missing when the tablet hit Australian shores.

Also bei der Telekom gibts schon seit paar Tagen ein Update, dann geht auch der Hotspot auf dem iPad.

Nein, es gibt seit ein paar Tagen ein Netzbetreiber-Update für das iPhone. Das Update, das den Personal Hotspot für das neue iPad freischalten soll, wurde auf Juni verschoben.

Jop, das ist in der Tat komisch...wenn es denn ein Pad 3 ist @breze28. ^^
Fakt ist, es gibt noch kein entsprechendes Netzbetreiber Update welches den Hotspot am neuen iPad freischaltet. Wie hier schon zu lesen, die Telekom hat entsprechendes Update auf Juni verschoben...

Auf das iPad 3 kann man es manuell aufspielen (das Update für das iPhone auf das iPad).

zurück zum Thema bizzr - hat jemand zufällig schon das Vertragsupdate und kan es hier zur verfügung stellen ? Wie gesagt es geht um Vodafone - nicht um T Com .

oder weis wan das Vodafone Update kommt ?

Sorry...aber da ist noch nichts verfügbar, auch nichts bekannt wann Vodafone (und O2) was nachreichen.

Vodafone.de geht doch auch

1.) Carrier-Profil runterladen: http://tristanholl.com/vodafone_de_12_0_5.ipcc

2.) je nach Betriebssystem:

• Mac:

Terminal starten und folgendes ausführen: defaults write com.apple.itunes carrier-testing -bool true
​

• Windows 32-Bit:

Ausführen: “%ProgramFiles%\iTunes\iTunes.exe” /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1

​

• Windows 64-Bit:

Ausführen: “C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe” /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1

​

3.) Über iTunes beim iPad "Nach Update suchen" mit gedrückter "Alt-Taste" (Mac) oder "Shift-Taste" (Windows) anklicken und das heruntergeladene Profil vodafone_de_12_0_5.ipcc auswählen

Fertig!

Falls der Hotspot jetzt noch nicht sichtbar ist, iPad ggf. neu starten.

Funktioniert selbstverständlich nur beim iPad 3 mit 3G!
