Hallo zusammen,
ich habe im offiziellen Apple Forum einen Thread eröffnet zum Thema Mailabruf bei Iphone.
anbei der Text, vielleicht kann mir hier jemand helfen?!?
Vielen Dank schon mal an alle !!!
Dear forums members,
i am thinking about making the move to the iphone from a windows mobile device.
Owning an ipod touch I am in love with the ui but I (think to) know of the iphone’s short-comings as well (everything in life is a trade-off…).
The main and major point of decision to me is how the mail functionality is handled:
Our company’s exchange server supports imap so this shouldn’t be a problem…
From what I’ve read and understand the process works like this:
When you check for new mails the iphone gets the headers (including 2 to 5 lines of text) and disconnects.
Let’s assume you got 5 new mails.
Mail 2 has a huge attachment (3MB pdf), but you are interested in the body of mail number 5.
As far as I understand you now have no chance to get to mail number 5 directly, skipping 1 to 4 ?!?
Is this correct???
If so this is the major point for me not getting the iphone as I am in “exotic” and “mobile expensive” countries quite often (China, India).
So in this scenario for getting to the body (not only the first 5 lines)of mail number 5 I would have to download the 3MB attachment first???
Please tell me this isn’t so and that I misunderstood something…
Otherwise it would be a tragedy for Apple inventing and implementing an awesome (!!) functionality for skipping voicemails but leaving out standard functionalities for getting mails…
Thanks for any input!!!
