Python-Programm "phyghtmap" Installationsproblem

Leider scheitert bei mir die Installation von "phyghtmap" (phyghtmap creates openstreetmap suitable contour lines from NASA SRTM data).


Fehlermeldung:
bash-3.2$ sudo python setup.py install
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "setup.py", line 4, in <module>
from setuptools import setup, find_packages
ImportError: No module named setuptools


Problemhistorie:
- erfolgreiche Installation von "phyghtmap" (unter Apple-Python 2.6.1 und SnowLeopard)
- abhängige Libs (mathplotlib) erfordern jedoch zwingend Python von python.org
- entsprechend Python 2.7.2 von python.org installiert
- anschließend abhängige Libs erfolgreich installiert
- der Aufruf "phyghtmap --help" zeigt (vermutlich) noch nach 2.6
- die (Neu-)Installation von "phyghtmap" unter 2.7.2 scheitert mit o.g. Meldung


Frage: Wo müßte / könnte ich zur Problemanalyse ansetzen?

installiere doch setuptools

OK - Danke - hat mich schon mal ein Stück weiter gebracht.

Frage: Hat jemand möglicherweise dieses sehr spezielle Programm unter OS X ans laufen bekommen ?

Unter OS X (10.6.8) konnte ich "phyghtmap" wie folgt lauffähig machen:

Nicht erfolgreich mit: Apple Python, ActiveState ActivePython, Python.org Python
-> Schwierigkeit: die Lauffähigkeit der Libs matplotlib und numpy herstellen

Erfolgreich mit: Enthought Python Distribution
-> EPD-Free Version 7.2.1, enthält bereits die Libs matplotlib und numpy

Zusätzlich zu installieren: phyghtmap, beautifulsoup
