Guten Morgen Forum,
vor ein paar Wochen habe ich mir für meine Photos eine neue ext. Festplatte zugelegt: eine G-DRIVE Thunderbolt 3 mit 6TB.
Ich habe extra die TB-Variante gewählt, da mein Mac (13" 2016, kleinstes Modell) nur zwei TB 3-Ports hat.
Setup: MBP, alte USB 2.0-Festplatte via Thunderbolt Display an einem Port, G-DRIVE am anderen.
Erste Aktion war das Kopieren der Aperture Library (ca. 477GB) von der alten Festplatte zur neuen; ich verwende dazu rsync.
Leider hatte ich gerade zu Beginn fürchterliche Probleme damit: die Festplatte funktionierte eine Zeit lang ok, um dann jeweils eines der folgenden Symptome zu zeigen:
Jetzt das Kuriose: seit einiger Zeit nun scheint die Platte einwandfrei zu funktionieren. Ich bin nun etwas ratlos, wo das Problem liegt:

Zur Info: die Fehler unten (bis Error 274) traten jedes Mal gehäuft auf, wenn die Platte den Mac mal wieder zum Absturz brachte.
Was würdet Ihr tun? Platte der Sicherheit halber einschicken?

- Kopiervorgang brach ab ("broken pipe")
- Totalabsturz des Macs (Cursor friert ein, Mac startet neu nach vermutlicher Kernelpanik). Dies natürlich nur via Thunderbolt, nicht via USB-C.
Jetzt das Kuriose: seit einiger Zeit nun scheint die Platte einwandfrei zu funktionieren. Ich bin nun etwas ratlos, wo das Problem liegt:
- Defektes Thunderbolt-Kabel? Möglich, aber wie gesagt funktioniert es jetzt problemlos (hatte über gut 2x 10 Stunden Kopiervorgänge zum Test am Laufen; alles tip-top).
- Wackelkontakt? Ich hatte viele Probleme mit dem TB-Display deswegen, aber hier kamen die Abstürze sporadisch, nicht bei besonderen Bewegungen.
- Defekte Sektoren auf der Festplatte? Möglich, da die HD nun vermutlich auf andere Teile schreibt. Aber das sichere Löschen der Platte mit dem Disk Utility funktioniert wenigstens zu 25%.
