@tegg5000 Für HighSierra sind 4GB RAM sehr knapp. Als Momentaufnahme nimmt sich Spotlight so ziemlich alles, was an Prozessorleistung vorhanden ist, da könnte etwas faul sein.

Unabhängig davon ist Dein letztes Backup bestenfalls für Historiker interessant ;)

Edit: Du hast wohl zwei Medien fürs Backup, da ist ein etwas Neueres dabei :)

Danke dir erstmal für die Antwort. Die 4GB sind in der Tat mal aufrüstnötig, bis gestern lief das aber alles wie am Schnürchen, kann also daran nicht liegen. Fällt sonst noch irgend was grobes auf?
Apropos: Kann man die Fehlermeldungen in der Konsole irgendwie kopieren/speichern? Da poppen bei mir so einige auf ...

Ich habe auch den Verdacht, dass RAM nicht das Problem ist. Der Rechner hat eine SSD zum Auslagern, das macht sich nicht durch Beachballs bemerkbar,

@tegg5000 Kannst du die Smart-Parameter der SSD mal posten?
Tritt das Problem auch auf, wenn die externe Platte nicht verbunden ist?

Schade, ja das SATA Kabel hatte ich tatsächlich schon 2x getauscht, ist 'n bisschen die Schwachstelle von der Modellreihe, reibt sich gerne auf. Das hatte sich damals aber anders bemerkbar gemacht, da ging dann wirklich gar nix mehr.

Es kann auch sein, dass dadurch nur Übertragungsfehler entstehen, die dann korrigiert werden können bzw. zu Mehrfachauslesen führen. Dadurch wird der Rechner sehr langsam. Bei richtigen Platten sieht man das an den Smart-Werten. Hier geht das leider nicht.

Ich sehe im Moment keinen weiteren Ansatz. Ich würde es daher tauschen, ist ja kein Riesenaufwand.

Moin Moin,
nach knapp einem Jahr wende ich mich wieder an euch, hier läuft wieder etwas nicht so wie es sollte und ich weiß einfach nicht weiter. Symptome sind ein permanent laufender Lüfter und wahllos aufploppende Fenster / Tabs in Chrome und Safari, die mich auf irgendwelche Produktseiten (Amazon etc.) bringen. Du hast da eine Menge an Programmen installiert, deren Verwendungszweck und Sinn man nicht, ohne nach zu forschen, ergründen kann.

Ich würd mir an Deiner Stelle eine zweite Festplatte (gleich eine SSD) besorgen und den Rechner neu aufsetzten.
Und nur die tatsächlich wirklich notwendigen Programme installieren.

Zum Test kannst Du ja eine vielleicht herumliegende 2.5" Festplatte nehmen und dort einen Clean Install Versuch unternehmen.

Wenn Dir das zu viel ist, einfach einen neuen Benutzer anlegen, mit diesem anmelden und sehen ob diese Fehler dort auch auftreten.

Auch wenn es beim Mac kaum „Plagegeister“ gibt, wer weiß was Du Dir da „eingefangen“ hast.
Wichtig - Apps die nicht von Appstore stammen IMMER bei den Originalquellen herunterladen.

Flash Player, Flip4Mac, Perian, DivX, sogar Java, DirectorShockwave (plus alle aus der
3rd Party Preference Panes) hinterfrage ich sowieso.
