Hilfe, meine neue externe Festplatte funktioniert nicht mehr.

Hallo zusammen,

ich beschreibe kurz den Verlauf und hänge dann unten noch sämtliche wichtige (denke ich) Daten an.

Habe meine neue externe Festplatte welche über USB 2 oder 3 betrieben wird in meinen IMAC 2009 eingesteckt. Sie wurde sofort erkannt und ich habe dann meine Foto + Musik Mediatheken sowie verschiedene Dokumente darauf übertragen. Hat alles ohne Problem funktioniert. Danach habe ich noch ein TimeMachine Backup gemacht und dann die Festplatte ausgeworfen. Anschließend meine iMac welcher auf ElCapitan gelaufen ist auf die Werkseinstellung zurück gesetzt. Danach hat er dann Automatisch auch wieder ElCapitan drauf gehabt und funktioniert auch wieder viel besser. Nur geht jetzt meine Festplatte nicht mehr. Habe schon alles versucht was in meiner Macht steht.......hoffe mir kann hier geholfen werden. Auf dem Ding sind meine kompletten Bilder und wichtige Dokumente.
Bildschirmfoto mit den wichtigen Daten im Anhang. Falls noch was fehlt einfach Bescheid geben. Würde mich echt freuen wenn mir jemand helfen kann.

Habe ein sehr ähnliches Problem nach einer Neuinstallation von meinem MacBook.

Die Festplatte ging kurz dann wieder nicht mehr. Kann mir das leider nicht erklären.

Das ist ja ein schöner Mist, was macht man da jetzt? Umtauschen und die Daten verabschieden^^ was anderes bleibt wohl nicht. Sche.....

Konnte mein Problem lösen! @ SevenFace : Bei dir dreht es sich nicht zufällig auch um eine Toshiba Platte!?

Habe nach mehrfacher suche gestern was sehr interessantes gefunden......Toshiba hat Probleme mit der Verschlüsselungssoftware bei EL Capitan.

Funktioniert nach folgender Anleitung wieder ohne Problem

HDD Password remove procedure for CANVIO/STOR.E SLIM for MAC under MAC OS X 10.11 (El Capitan)

Due to an unforeseen capability issue with Apple’s OS X 10.11 (El Capitan), the Password Software is not compatible and cannot access your Password.
Toshiba engineering is working on this issue with Apple.
The current workaroundis to disable your password software with an older OS X 10.x version or gain access via a Windows PC.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and ask that you check back until the issue is resolved.

There are 3 procedures to remove the HDD password from a password protected CANVIO/STOR.E SLIM for MAC.

1. HDD Password removal procedure under Windows (Toshiba recommended)
   - Please install the "Password Tool for Windows" software on a Windows PC.
   You can dowload the necessary tool via following link: http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/hddpwtool-20151001094132.zip.
   - Please connect your password protected CANVIO/STOR.E SLIM for MAC to the Windows PC.
   - If the Password Tool application start automatically, please quit it and start the Password Tool manually.
   - In the next step, the Password Tool will require you to input the password.
   - Please input your Password to unlock your CANVIO/STOR.E SLIM for MAC HDD.
   - In a next please input password to remove the password protection itself and confirm it.
   - Close the "Password Tool for Windows" software on the Windows PC and remove the application if no longer needed.
   - After that you are able to use the HDD without password under MAC OS X 10.11, until TOSHIBA will release an updated version of the HDD Password Tool software.
   
   NOTE:
   - If your HDD is still formated in HFS+ (factory state), you are now fully able to use it to read and write date without any limitation!
   
   - If your HDD already was re-formated in NTFS file format, you are only able to read data!
   Writing date isn't possible under MAC OS X 10.11, because you will need an updated version of the Tuxera NTFS driver for this too, which will be released soon!
   (If you want use your HDD now to read and write date, you have to back-up your data and format the external HDD in HFS+ file format.)
   
   
   
2. HDD Password removal procedure under MAC OS 10.x
   
   a) Installation of the "HDD Password Tool for MAC" on a MAC computer with OS version less than MAC OS 10.11
   - The needed application can be downloaded under: http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/hddpwtool-20151001125759.zip
   - Please connect your password protected CANVIO/STOR.E SLIM for MAC to the MAC.
   - If the Password Tool application start automatically, please quit it and start the Password Tool manually.
   - In the next step, the Password Tool will require you to input the password.
   - Please input your Password to unlock your CANVIO/STOR.E SLIM for MAC HDD.
   - In a next please input password to remove the password protection itself and confirm it.
   - Close the "Password Tool for Windows" software on the Windows PC and remove the application if no longer needed.
   - After that you are able to use the HDD without password under MAC OS X 10.11, until TOSHIBA will release an updated version of the HDD Password Tool software.
   
   
   b) Possibilty if a Time Machine backup of older OS exists
   - Please make sure to back-up your data on the MAC first!
   - If you own a back-up up of your OS by Time Machine, you are able to roll back the OS to a MAC Version less than MAC OS 10.11.
   - After this, you will be able to continue with 2a).
