All%20PTs.jpg

http://www.maclife.de/news/apple-sp...ngst-vor-apple-watch-konkurrenz-10065041.html

May is here. It’s show time.

We’re firing on all cylinders to get Pebble Time onto your wrist. With new hardware AND software on deck for May, the team is busy, excited, and fired up!

This week, we’re diving into a lot:

  • Preview of the Pebble Time Interface.
  • Pebble Time's feature list and update plan. Pebble launches early and updates often. Take a look at what will be live on Day One and what’s coming next.
  • Mass production starts this week. This is one week later than originally planned. The majority of May backers will still see their watches ship this month. Some backers at the back end of the May reward line will see their watches ship the first week of June.
Timeline, Notifications, and Alerts
A pre-production Silver Pebble Time Steel joined us on a weekend trip to LA. We couldn’t have asked for a better buddy riding shotgun to wrangle the adventures on our hit list.

The colorful e-paper display is awesome to play with and made managing our day a breeze. Snappy animations bring you forward and backward in time to see the future or review the past. The timeline’s quick views let you focus on what matters.

We’re still playing with a few icons—they’re subject to change—but the interface is at a stage where a little show and tell is in order :)

Connect an Android or iPhone to your rental car’s infotainment system (wired or Bluetooth—however you like) to keep things moving and the beats pumping from Pebble Time’s redesigned Music app. Switch tracks, Play/Pause, adjust the volume, and keep your eyes on the road.

Pebble Time features a full range of color-coded notifications and animations. You'll notice a bunch at launch, and we’ll keep adding more over time. Check out the templates for Google Hangouts, Facebook, email, and Twitter.

Pebble Time Features: What’s Ready on Day One and What’s Coming
The team’s hard work and preparation all point to backers unboxing their rewards very soon. It’s important to us that all features be delightful and executed well, and we’ve been hard at work to make it so.

With that in mind, the lineup of features and improvements available in the first software release are below:

  • New timeline Interface. Review Past, Present, and Future events you care about right from your watch. Initial support includes timeline pins for calendars, sports scores, and weather.
  • Expanded app storage. Goodbye, 8-app limit! Pebble Time will store as many apps and faces as possible on the watch itself. When needed, an app or face not currently stored will automatically install from your Android or iOS device.
  • New Sports app. Keep tabs on the latest MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, NCAAF, and NCAAM scores with an official Sports app. Find which teams you want to follow to get start times, score updates, and more sent directly to your timeline.
  • Redesigned system apps in color. Alarms, Calendar, Music, Notifications, Sports, and Settings are all redesigned for Pebble Time’s new color e-paper display.
  • Voice replies to Android notifications. Dictate short replies for app notifications that allow direct text replies.
All Pebbles get more awesome with time, thanks to a consistent flow of updates and new features. We’ll keep everyone posted as what's on our “up next” list goes live:

  • Voice response to Gmail notifications on iOS.
  • Voice notes app.
  • Stocks app.
  • Weather watchface.
  • Album art view for the Music app.
Production and Delivery Plan
Pebble Time mass production starts this week (week of 4 May). Shipping begins in the second half of May. The journey from factory to wrist is quite an adventure. Let's dive into the process.

Reward Finalization

Starting next week, we’ll begin locking some backers’ Pebble Time color selections in the Reward Portal. We’ll email you ahead of time to review color and delivery selections. If you’re happy with your picks, no action is needed.

At this time, we’ll also charge your card for any expedited shipping or prepayment of duties and taxes. If this applies to your reward, please make sure your payment method is up-to-date.

Production

As rewards are finalized, Pebble Times are being manufactured, packaged, and grouped into large pallets of master cartons for the next step.

The factory will manufacture smaller quantities of Pebble times to start, and then steadily ramp up to maximum production capacity.

Your Pebble Time will then be batched up and sent for staging and distribution.

Staging and Distribution Centers

Once a large production batch is created, pallets full of Pebble Time watches in master cartons go to a staging vendor for administrative checks and initial customs clearance. After clearing the staging phase, the cartons are shipped to the five distribution centers we set up in the United States, Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, and Ireland.

Due to the various steps and paperwork involved, it can take up to 10 days for a Pebble Time to make the trip from factory to distribution center.

Final Processing and Delivery

Here’s where it gets fun. Once reaching a distribution facility, the master cartons are unpacked and split up into individual Pebble Time rewards. These “fulfillment houses” are in charge of the final delivery process: labeling your parcel, passing it off to couriers, and emailing your tracking number.

As a reminder:

  • US Pebble Time rewards will ship via USPS.
  • Standard non-US shipments will ship to destination countries via Singpost.
  • Expedited non-US shipments will travel via the courier listed in your Reward Portal.
Who gets what and when?

Rewards will be fulfilled in the order with which you backed. You will be able to track the progress of your Pebble Time as it moves with its batch through the Building, Processing, and Shipping steps on the reward portal.

We expect production yield to hit full capacity by mid-May. We’ll keep everyone posted on manufacturing progress as it unfolds. At this rate, most May backers will see their watches ship this month. Some later backers in May reward tiers will see watches ship during the first week of June.

It’s all very exciting—we can’t wait :)

If you’re reading this, you’ve made it!
Thanks so much for bearing with a long and detailed update!

We hope it gives you a great sense of where the Team and your rewards are headed at this stage in the game. It’s a lot to review and discuss, so be sure to tell us what you think.

Until next time!

Pebble Time Apps for iOS + Android

The new Pebble Time app icon.
Our software team has been cranking non-stop to get Pebble Time’s mobile apps ready for their debut next week. The apps will work exclusively with Pebble Time and Pebble Time Steel when they arrive on iTunes and Google Play. The current Pebble apps on iTunes and Google Play will still be around to manage the original Pebble and Pebble Steel.

The new mobile apps, dubbed Pebble Time Watch, will let you set up and manage Pebble Time when it arrives. It’s also where you’ll find the Pebble appstore to get new color and Timeline-ready apps or browse for watchapps you already know and love.

The apps sport a new My Pebble screen, known formerly as the Locker. From here, you’ll organize what’s on your Pebble by Watchfaces and Apps/Timeline.

iOS My Pebble menus (left) and Android My Pebble menus (right)
With the new mobile apps, we've done away with the old 8-app limit. You can now manage all the apps and faces you like. Pebble Time will store as many watchapps it can locally. When needed, apps and faces not stored on the watch locally will be downloaded from the Pebble app to the watch.

The apps integrate with Pebble Time seamlessly, especially when it comes to organization and reordering apps and faces.

Dragging downloaded watchapps within the menu reorders them and syncs the new order to your Pebble (woo-hoo!).

There's now three ways to pick the active watchface on your Pebble Time:

1) Press Select » Watchfaces in the Pebble Time Launcher menu.

2) Tap the circle on the top right of any watchface tile in your app's My Pebble menu to instantly make it active on your Pebble Time.

3) Tap a watchface in your My Pebble menu. The card that pops up has a command to Set as active watchface.

That's it for today, everyone. Enjoy the rest of your week and keep us posted about what you think and what you'd like to see next. Until next time!

Enjoy the good news on deck today:

  • Let’s Ship Some Watches
  • Ready for the World, Your Wrist, and Pre-Orders
  • Better with Time
  • Team Up with Awesome Apps
  • Until Next Time...
Let’s Ship Some Watches!
Pebble Time rewards begin their journeys home as shipments to our amazing backers are underway:

  • With Pebble Time now at distribution centers, shipping labels and tracking numbers will start going out and ramp up quickly.
  • The first 10,000 Pebble Time rewards will ship from our five distribution centers around the world this week.
  • From there, we'll keep on shipping! All Pebble Time backers should receive tracking numbers by mid-June.
The support and feedback from our first million Pebblers since starting this journey has carried us further and faster than we imagined. Thanks to you, we’re delivering the most focused, purpose-built smartwatch for busy people to Get. Things. Done.

Pebble Time builds on the past, focuses on the present, and welcomes the future.

For Pebble Time-ready apps and watchfaces you’ll love at first sight, check our new guide »

Ready for the World, Your Wrist, and Pre-Orders
After getting Pebble Time on backers’ wrists, let’s make it rain everywhere else. You can help us spread the love.

Pebble Time pre-orders begin on Monday, June 22.

Pre-order timing was a burning question ever since wrapping our last Kickstarter campaign. With the cat out of the bag, let’s welcome more Pebblers to the Time family. Friends who want to stay in the loop about pre-order day can sign up at pebble.com/pebble_time and we’ll remind them directly.

Better with Time

The best technology gets better with time. Updating the Pebble experience quickly and often is in Pebble’s DNA. Pebble Time continues this tradition with a steady flow of new features to watch out for:

  • Voice Notes app
  • Stocks app
  • Weather app
  • Increased international language support (e.g. Chinese, French, German, and Spanish)
If the number of Macs, iPhones, and iPads around Pebble HQ is any indication, we love Apple as much as everyone else. We’re excited to confirm that voice replies to Gmail notifications for iPhone users are coming in a future update. Bringing more iPhone voice features to life—like letting Pebble apps use Time’s built-in voice recognition software—is one of our next big priorities now that Pebble Time’s core software is complete.

We’ll post regularly on our progress on this front (it’s how we roll). Delivering on any big feature takes time, but it’ll be sweet, and—like all good things—worth the wait. Until then, no Pebble is an island. Tell us what you love now and what you want to see next. Send us your ideas, suggestions, and stories.

Team Up with Awesome Apps
We don’t make awesome happen alone. We do it hand-in hand with our community of users, developers, and partners. Check out some Pebble Time-ready all-stars we love:

Thank you, Pebblers: Pebble Time Watch for iPhone Is Live
184 Kommentare

219 Personen gefällt das

We’re delighted to report that Pebble Time Watch for iPhone is live on the iTunes Appstore.

It normally takes 2-3 hours for ITunes app updates to be visible to all users around the world. Hang tight if the new apps don’t show up for you immediately.

All Pebble Time backers with watches in-hand can now set up their rewards, grab cool watchfaces, and discover amazing apps. An update (v2.6.6) to the original Pebble iPhone appis also available to Pebble and Pebble Steel users (full release notes for both apps are below).

Credit Where It's Due
It’s thanks to you, the one-million-and-growing community of Pebble users, developers, and fans that Pebble Time Watch is on the AppStore today. You carried this torch across the finish line. If only we could dish out a million-plus high fives to all of you.

We thank Apple for honoring the people who love both their Pebble watches and Apple devices. Apple’s attentiveness to the community means iOS Pebblers with iPhones can now enjoy both their Kickstarter rewards and Pebble’s awesome iOS-compatible apps. We’re glad to have Apple be a part of Pebble’s journey then, now, and into the future.

Back to Business
Since shipping began on May 27, over 24,000 Pebble Time rewards have begun their journey home to backers. Thousands more are leaving our distribution centers daily.

  • Over 47,000 of the 57,000 total Pebble Time Kickstarter rewards have been manufactured.
  • We remain on track for all Pebble Time backers to receive tracking numbers by June 21.
  • A small batch of Red and White Pebble Time rewards have shipped, with more en route to distribution centers now.
  • Next week, 7,000 more Red and White rewards will ship, covering half of the Pebble Time backers lined up for those colors.
It’s clear that the fun isn’t stopping any time soon. We hope everyone now has a great sense of where we are as we head into the weekend and prepare for the next phase: Pebble Time Steel :)

Hi everyone,

Pebble Time Rewards: Almost Done
We’re currently wrapping up the remaining Pebble Time reward shipments. Thanks to everyone for sharing their anticipation and excitement. We’re enjoying the unboxing videos and can’t wait to see more :)

As of today, almost all Pebble Time rewards have shipped. The remaining ones left will ship in the coming week. We discovered a small error last week in our reward processing system, which delayed the delivery of about 1,600 rewards. After correcting the errors, those Pebble Times will ship this week.

Clarifying Tracking Numbers

Once your Kickstarter reward has shipped, there is often a few days of lag until we email your tracking number. Not all carriers update their systems with live delivery progress after a tracking number is initially generated, so we wait until delivery information appears before passing the tracking number on to you.

For international orders with standard shipping via Singapore Post, tracking can sometimes take as long as 7-10 days to become active and show progress. This is normal and shouldn’t be a cause for worry.

If you have NOT yet received a tracking number for your Pebble Time reward, it should arrive by this weekend.

Backers with Incomplete Reward Portals

A small percentage of Pebble Time backers have not completed their delivery and payment selections in the Kickstarter Reward Portal, preventing us from shipping these rewards out to them. We continue to remind these backers directly to finalize their rewards.

If you are a Pebble Time backer and have not received any notices about the progress of your reward delivery, please check your Kickstarter Reward portal to make sure everything has been finalized properly. For direct assistance, email us at [email protected].

As much as we love keeping your Pebble Time safe for you, we’d rather have your reward on your wrist, where it belongs.

Pebble Time Pre-Orders Have Begun!

Ready for the world, and for pre-orders :)

With shipments to our Kickstarter backers wrapping up, the next step in the journey is to share Pebble Time with the rest of the world. Anyone can now pre-order Pebble Time and join you in the most awesome community in wearable tech.

Help us share the good news on Twitter, Facebook, or wherever you like to post. Pebble Time is ready to meet new friends!

Pebble Time Steel Shipping Starts in July
We’re so excited to start shipping Pebble Time Steel rewards to backers in July.

We received a fresh round of pre-production samples to test drive the look, feel, and functionality. Pebble Time Steel backers are going to have the time of their lives—things are looking great.

Like Pebble Time rewards, Pebble Time Steel backers will be invited to lock Reward Portal selections as we approach their shipping window. With the fulfillment process now in full swing, Pebble Time Steel orders will get from factory to wrist more quickly.

If you’re curious about a Pebble Time’s journey from factory to wrist, check out Update 17 for full descriptions about the three main phases (Building, Processing, and Shipped) of reward fulfillment.

Active Kickstarter Projects We Love
Since our first Kickstarter project, the Pebble ecosystem has grown into a foundation for others to expand upon and be inspired by. All the credit in the world goes to those who have used Pebble to improve the lives of those with lifelong conditions like diabetes and Parkinson’s; assist teachers in the classroom; start successful businesses; express their creativity; or learn to code and crowdfund their own projects.

Two projects we recently backed—Deus Ex Aria and HAMMER—continue the tradition of amazing projects to make the Pebble experience more awesome.

Deus Ex Aria wants to bring gesture control to Pebble Time with a smartstrap integration, recognizing finger gestures from the wrist thanks to a layer of sensors. These sensors interpret tendon movement and maps them to actions managing incoming calls, controlling music, and acting as a remote shutter button for your camera. We’re really excited for Deus Ex Aria to succeed and pledged $10,000 from our Smartstrap Development Fund to help make the dream a reality. Support Deus Ex Aria »

HAMMER is a third generation of custom-made Pebble bands from our friends at Richard Tracy Brand. They originally designed Wide Body for Pebble Classic and Shank for Pebble Steel. We look forward to receiving our own HAMMER bands after backing the project on Kickstarter. Support HAMMER »

Thanks for taking the time to catch up on what we’ve been up to over the last few weeks. As always, keep us posted about what you’re loving and what you’d like to see next.

Until next time!

Of the 57,000 Pebble Time rewards due to backers, 55,000 have been shipped. The great majority of rewards that haven’t shipped are from backers who have not completed their delivery and payment selections in the Kickstarter Reward Portal.

Pebble Time Steel: Production and Delivery Plan

Click to download Weather by DocF87 »

Pebble Time Steel production begins this week (the week of 13 July), with all reward watches being produced this month.

Shipments to the first Pebble Time Steel backers will begin the last week of July. Backers at the end of the Time Steel line should receive tracking numbers by the end of August. Pebble Time Steel rewards ship as soon as our distribution centers around the world receive watches from the factory and process them for final delivery.

The delivery timeframe for Pebble Time Steel rewards is a little off from the original estimate we shared during the campaign, but we’ll get everything shipped as fast as possible. The steps involved in a Pebble Time Steel’s journey from factory to wrist are outlined below. If you’re curious about the process, check it out!

Pebble Time Steel rewards come with both a leather band and a matching steel band. When Time Steel arrives at retail, the metal band will be sold as a separate accessory. Due to reduced initial availability from our supplier, we’ll include the metal bands in a single shipment for every backer possible, and send metal bands in a separate shipment for the remaining backers, as more become available.

Reward Finalization

This week, we’ll also start emailing the Pebble Time Steel backers who are in the front of the delivery line, asking to finalize the details in your Kickstarter Reward Portal. You’ll want to review your selected finish (Gunmetal Black, Brushed Silver, or Gold), delivery address, shipping speed, and finalize payment for any balance owed. If the details in your Reward Portal are complete and correct, no action is needed.

Reminders to finalize reward selections for Pebble Time Steel will be sent on a rolling basis, as watches in production get assigned to backers waiting in line. When your reward portal is locked, we’ll charge your selected payment card for any expedited shipping, duties, or taxes. If this applies to your reward, please make sure your payment method is up-to-date.

Staging and Distribution

Pebble Time Steel watches are grouped into batches of master cartons after production, and sent to distribution centers in the United States, Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, and Ireland.

Due to the various steps and paperwork involved in this step, it can take up to 10 days for a Pebble Time Steel to make the journey from factory to distribution center.

Final Processing and Delivery

Once batches of Pebble Time Steels arrive at a distribution center, the master cartons are unpacked and split up into individual orders. These centers are in charge of creating the shipping label for your parcel, passing the reward off to your selected delivery courier, and emailing you your tracking number. For reference:

  • US Pebble Time rewards will ship via USPS.
  • Standard non-US shipments will ship to destination countries via Singpost.
  • Expedited non-US shipments will travel via the courier listed in your Reward Portal.
How Do I Follow My Pebble Time Steel’s Progress?

You will be able to track the progress of your Pebble Time as it moves with its batch through the Building, Processing, and Shipping steps on the reward portal. Refer to the tracking number email you receive for specific instructions on how to follow your parcel along the way. Directions differ by region and selected shipping method.

Pebble Time’s First Software Updates

With rewards landing on backers’ wrists, our software team was hard at work releasing the first big updates to the Pebble Time operating system and iPhone app. Version 3.1 of the Pebble Time firmware includes improvements to the Alarm app, Do Not Disturb Settings, and timeline. Version 3.1 of Pebble Time Watch for iPhone is available on the iTunes App Store and has improvements to Calendar, Weather, and timeline.

Full release notes can be found on our blog. Those with a Pebble Time in-hand who haven’t already updated their firmware may do so manually by selecting Menu » Support » Update Your Pebble from the iOS or Android smartphone app. The latest Pebble Time iPhone app may be downloaded from iTunes.

Those with Pebble and Pebble Steel have been eager to see support for the timeline interface and other Pebble Time-related features on their watches as well. We’re committed to making sure all Pebble watches—both our newest offerings and legacy ones—get better with time.

Our goal is to update Pebble and Pebble Steel to the latest version of the operating system, including timeline and unlimited apps later this year. While we don’t have an exact timeframe to share yet, rest assured that it’s a leading priority for the software team. As always, we’ll share new developments as they happen.

Follow Pebble LIVE @ The ESPYs Jul 15th
Since launching ESPN for Pebble last summer, fans all over the world have been staying connected to their favorite sports and games, right from their wrists. This Wednesday, July 15, we’ll be joining our friends at ESPN for one of their biggest events: The ESPYs.

The ESPYs recognizes the year’s memorable sports milestones, honors the athletes who made us cheer, and supports The V Foundation for Cancer Research. The team will be on the ground in LA showcasing ESPN, activity tracking, and amazing Pebble apps to athletes and honorees while live-tweeting the coolest moments and giving away Pebble Time prizes to winners online throughout the day.

To be a part of it all, follow @Pebble on Twitter. The fun starts at 6:00 PM US Eastern on Wednesday, July 15.

Share the Love: Pebble Time Pre-Orders Are Live
Pebble Time is ready to share with the rest of the world. We opened up Pebble Time pre-orders on June 22, exclusively from Best Buy for those in the US and from pebble.com for those who live outside of the US.

Those who pre-order now can beat the crowds and get Pebble Time shipped to their door before watches are available in stores. Help us share the good news on Twitter, Facebook, or wherever you like to post. Pebble Time is ready to meet new wrists :)

Until next time!

Danke an Apflap!

@PaulchenPanther Danke!

Pebble Time Firmware 3.2 Release Notes

  • New Backlight settings: Adjust intensity and time-out duration.
  • New Font Size settings: Adjust the displayed font size in notifications, layouts, and other areas of the system.
  • New Vibration settings: Adjust the vibration strength for notifications, incoming calls, alerts, etc. Default vibration setting is less strong than the previous default.
  • Music (Android): Added support for most music players (e.g. Pandora, Spotify, Songza), improved display of track metadata, play/pause detection (app now displays separate pause and play icons to match current playback status).
  • Notifications: A collection of improvements and fixes to enhance the notifications experience, including a new Dismiss All action.
  • Bug fixes and stability improvements.
  • To update: Select Menu » Support » Update Your Pebble within the Pebble Time app for iOS or Android.

Greetings, Pebblers!

Hope everyone is having an excellent week so far. We're checking in today with Pebble Time Steel news and recent software updates.

Metal Bands: Shipping Separately

In Update 24, we discussed an availability issue with Pebble Time Steel’s metal watch bands, preventing us from sending them to most backers in one shipment.

To manage the metal band issues, we’re implementing a Pebble Time Steel delivery plan that gets reward watches with leather bands out to backers as soon as possible. Matching metal bands will arrive in a separate shipment later on:

  • All Pebble Time Steel backers will receive a leather band and matching metal band with their watches. The only change is the timing of the metal band delivery, due to the supply issues we mentioned.
  • Pebble is covering the shipping costs related to this revised delivery plan.
  • If metal band availability improves, we will take metal Time Steel bands and include them with reward watches in one shipment as originally planned, whenever possible.
While we can’t currently provide a 100% exact timeframe for when metal bands will arrive for any individual order, backers can expect us to be done shipping them by the end of September, if not sooner. As metal band availability improves, we’ll update everyone with the progress of those deliveries.

Rest assured, we’re doing our best to get your Pebble Time Steel rewards completed in full. We apologize for the extra wait for the metal band, but appreciate your patience while we do what’s needed to fulfill backer rewards properly.

Pebble Time Steel Reward Progress

The first batches of Pebble Time Steel production units left the factory on Monday, July 27. They are on their way to our distribution centers in the United States, Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, and Ireland. By the middle of next week, the backers assigned to these watches should see tracking numbers in their email inboxes.

The start of shipping from distribution centers to backers is one week behind what we previously outlined, but we can still get Pebble Time Steel shipments completed by the end of August, as described In Update 24.

Latest Pebble Time Software Updates

New Pebble powers abound in Firmware Update 3.2.

With Pebble Time landing on more and more wrists, or software team has been hard at work taking your feedback and turning it into cool new features.

Last week, we added greater control over Pebble Time’s backlight, font sizes, vibration, notifications, and more. The fact that Pebblers themselves have a hand in the features and updates that come along the way is amazing—we wouldn’t have it any other way!
